Remembering our fellow

CLASSMATES

There are moments we can never forget — laughter that still echoes, smiles that never fade, and memories that time can’t erase. Over the years, we’ve had to say goodbye to some of our brothers and sisters from the Class of 2008. Their physical presence may be gone, but their spirit still lives right here with us — in every story, every reunion, every “remember when” that brings their name back to life. We honor them not with sadness, but with love. Because they were and always will be a part of who we are — the heartbeat of the Scarlet & Gold legacy.

💛❤️ Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Forever 2008.

Obento Saint Val

It’s hard to find the right words for someone who brought so much light wherever he went. Obento was the kind of soul who could make you laugh even on your worst day. He was always goofy, always smiling, and always giving. He had the biggest heart, and his kindness touched everyone who knew him. Your spirit, his laughter, and his warmth will live on in all of us forever.

Some people don’t need to say much to leave an impact — they just are. That was Roc. 💔 Always the one to lend a hand, always showing love, and never needing the spotlight. On and off the field, Roc carried himself with a quiet strength that inspired everybody around him. He was a teammate, a friend, and the kind of soul you never forget. From the football field lights to the everyday moments in between, Roc’s spirit still shines bright within the Deerfield Class of 2008. His humility, his laughter, and his heart left an imprint that time could never fade.

Her smile could light up a room, no matter where she was or what was going on. She had that natural glow — the kind that came from a good heart, a kind spirit, and pure love for the people around her. Franciline was more than a classmate; she was good energy, real laughter, and the type of friend you never forget. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved, just by being herself.

Some people just have that light — that energy that can walk into any room and change the whole vibe. That was Poppa Dot. 💛 Always full of life, always cracking jokes, always finding a way to make somebody smile — his spirit was pure joy. You couldn’t be around him without laughing or feeling better about your day. He reminded us what it means to live fully, to love deeply, and to never lose that spark that makes you. We will forever remember his laughter, his heart, and the way he lifted everyone around him.

Shaneka Dean

Always put together, always shining, always smiling. Her style was unmatched and her spirit was just as beautiful. She had that confidence that inspired others and a warmth that made everyone around her feel seen. Shaneka carried herself with grace and love — a true reflection of beauty inside and out. The Deerfield High Class of 2008 will never forget her presence, her laughter, or that unforgettable smile that could brighten any day.
